Located a short distance from Denton on the Sedgebrook road.
Nearest carparking is at N52 53.669 W0 42.984 although there are
footpaths from the village of Denton (not too far from the pub) and
also accessible from the towpath of the Grantham Canal by crossing
the canal at the bridge at N52 53.674 W0 41.405.
Denton Reservoir is fed by several rivulets one of which rises from
near Denton House, other rivulets come in from Harston and
Harlaxton. The reservoir contains 61 million gallons of water and
feeds into the Grantham Canal. It was completed in 1801 and covers
about 27 acres. The reservoir is now home to coot, moorhen,
mallard, heron and great crested grebe. It is also a mecca for
fishermen known for its carp (Common and Mirror) fishing.
