This cache provides a nice afternoon walk in the Kilpatrick Hills. The path to the cache and back is just under six miles and the climb is about 1,000 feet.
The best parking for tackling this cache is at N55-55.613, W004-26.963. As this is a popular walk the limited roadside parking can quickly fill up on a weekend afternoon. As you head along the road please make sure that you take the road on the right, heading up, at N55-55.697, W004-27.100. The walk up provides delightful views back over the Clyde, Paisley, Renfrew and Glasgow. Down the river lies Langbank, Greenock, the Cowal Hills and the Firth opening out in the distance. Near the top of the climb you can even catch a glimpse of the summit ridge of Ben Lomond. The loch is a stocked reservoir so you can expect to see fishermen (sorry, fisherpeople) busy with their lines. However, the cache site is hidden from most of the loch so retrieval should not be too difficult.
The cache is in lock and lock container in a green garden bag.
