Seekonk Land Trust - Burr's Pond Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This is a fun, traditional two stage multi-cache. Please take note of others in the area and watch out for muggles! The previous cache in this location was muggled several times, so play it cool! This is also a great spot for kids and an easy walk, so enjoy it!
** ATTN: Refinder/CITO Bonus ** A brand new Geocaching TShirt awaits the first person to CITO the large black round object near the final stage. Roll it back to one of the parking lots and accept the gift that is in the new final stage!!!
The Burr's Pond site is maintained by the Seekonk Land Trust. They're doing a wonderful job, and this spot is a gem in a very crowded area of Seekonk. Please take some time and enjoy this cache, don't just dash in and out unless you have to! Best place to park is at:
41 48.809
071 20.282
The Golden Rule of this cache is: Water goes OVER a dam - Water goes under a bridge! The cache is nowhere near the dam! Dont try to cross the dam or get too close to the edge.
To find stage one you'll be following the trail toward the bridge. The path entry is on the opposite side of the parking lot from the dam! The paths are clean and easy to walk. Stage One is a bright orange match container the size of a film container. It's a micro that is well hidden to deter muggles. Please rehide and use stealth. Final stage coordinates are written inside. Stage one is not on or close to the bridge, but you will have to cross it at some point.
The final stage is a tupperware container with a log book and some swag. There should be room for travel bugs, so if you have some, bring them along.
Burr's pond is a deep cold pond. It's a great spot to bring the kids and catch some sunfish. Things to look for: Deer near the final stage, ducks, very large snapping turtles, and muskrats.
No night caching as the park is closed and Seekonk Police DO take notice.
