Geocache Description:

THE ABOVE COORDINATES ARE FOR THE GENERAL AREA OF THE CACHE.  THERE IS AN UNOFFFICIAL OFFSET!

Just a Walk in the Park

We found this area of Settler's Cabin Park while driving to the "Not Just a Walk in the Park" cache.  We never knew this area existed until that day!

In exploring the area, we found an interesting "thing" and some other "stuff."  We're bringing you here so you can tell us what this "thing" and "stuff" are.  It also just happens to be a nice area for a walk. You are looking for a 30 cal. ammo can. FTF prize is a "Thanks for the Cache" geocoin.

Please use the parking coordinates N 40.24.345, W 080.10.166, just off of Noblestown Road.  Park in the very large gravel lot, and walk past the gate up the deteriorating road.  While you may be tempted to drive up here, the condition of the road is poor in some places, and, as the name suggests, this cache is meant to be walked.

The majority of your walk will be along the old road.  To avoid an area that appears to have been a dumping ground for old bottles, plates, and other ceramic housewares, please stay on the road until you reach the waypoint of N 40.24.911, W 080.10.571 , then take the first trail to your right.

The entire park is a "No Hunting" area, but we did see shotgun shells, so please use caution during hunting season.

The 2.5 terrain rating is because of the distance you will walk (about 1.5 miles roundtrip), and the road is a gradual incline.  There is no need to bushwack until the very end, and even this is very light.  Stay on the road and trail, or you WILL be in for a nasty bushwack.

The cache is kid friendly if they can handle the 1.5 mile walk.  Use caution when you reach the cache site, because there is that old "thing" and "stuff" to be aware of.

OFFSET

GPS reception was spotty in the area.  Go to the above coordinates and stand between the posts.  Look at the wheel.  The cache is about 30 feet away at 9:30.  This offset and your geosense should be plenty to find the cache.

So, you've taken a walk and found the cache.  What is this "thing" and this "stuff"???
