The resort town of Methven is found in the shadow of the Mount Hutt skifield, about 1 hours drive west of Christchurch city.
Around the outskirts of Methven is a walkway which at the eastern edge of town emerges from a wooded area. This is normally a quiet part of town except on the weekend when the sports grounds next door become a hive of activity. Although this cache is located within metres of a muggly area, there is enough cover to easily retrieve the cache.
The cache is a 1.5 litre black snaplock container and when placed contained the usual stash note, notebook and pencil along with the following swaps; Glowstick, Multi coloured cord, karabina keyring, marble, animal eraser, rainbow gel pen and a hot wheels car. There is also a few surprises to be found in the cache although they are not for the faint hearted or very young!
