The name of this cache comes from it's location. This area is called Separation Flats because it is in an area where the Continental Divide splits and one branch goes to the east of this area and the other to the west, thus isolating it. A developer from California has obtained many acres of land here and is marketing it across the United States as 40 acre parcels. The problem is, this land is very isolated with very little water, no electricity, few roads and limited access to one's property. Some of these parcels have sold, people have moved here with grand ideas about what they will accomplish but end up moving on, disappointed. So if someone has a deal for you, make sure you investigate a little before you put your money down. This land can be very pretty, very quiet, very serene and some people love it but it can also be very barren, very harsh, very unforgiving. I hope when you stop here that you enjoy the beauty it holds and realize how unique it is.
