Geocache Description:

Take Hurricane Creek Road up to the trailhead (end of the road). This is a great road that is accessible by any car. You will need a trailhead parking pass (can be purchased at the trailhead, if you don't have one) or you can park 1/4 mile down the paved road for free. In the winter this road is not plowed so the cache is either not accessible or is extremely difficult to access. (Cache at your own risk in the winter) However, it is a short, easy hike when there is no snow.

The hike to the cache is less than a 1/2 mile from the trailhead. Follow the Hurricane Creek Trail for approximately 200-300 yards and look for a trail that takes off to the right with a small wood sign on a tree marked "Falls Creek". A short distance up the trail and you can see the beautiful waterfall of Falls Creek. The cache is a standard sized green ammo can that is well hidden and hopefully above the spring runoff high-water line! Be sure to follow the "trail" right up to the waterfall itself. It's worth the short hike! Make sure to take the "trail less traveled" that heads directly toward the falls. The main trail continues up the mountain eventually going to Lake Legore, the highest lake in Oregon (elevation 8957 feet with nearly a 4000 vertical foot climb in about 4 trail miles of extremely steep uphill) I'd stick to the falls-much easier hike and beautiful! Enjoy the area, it's one of our favorite short hikes! Family Explorers
