Geocache Description:

Each year, thousands rubber duckies race down the Chena River to the Cushman Street Bridge during the Fairbanks Golden Days celebration.   Members of the public buy tickets which correspond with the numbered ducks hoping their duck is a lucky one and wins a prize.  Come visit the site where all the quackers start swimming.

The Fairbanks Golden Days celebrate the discovery of gold in the Fairbanks area on July 22, 1902.  Two caches are placed in the vicinity of this historic strike at Pedro's Elephant Ear and Pedro's Discovery on the Steese Highway just past Fox.

Additional Golden Days events include a children's parade at Pioneer Park, a Red Green Regatta, a street fair, and the Grande Parade.  Be sure to wear your Golden Days pin, or you could get tossed in the Golden Days Jail until you post bail!

The 2014 Golden Days celebration will be held July 16-20.
