This cache is located on one of the many viewpoints this valley has to offer. I spotted this one while returning from geocaching on Badger Mountain last weekend. From the top of this bluff looking North toward Wenatchee is a nice view of the Columbia River Valley.
Looking South you can see Rock Island dam where I work. We are currently modernizing Powerhouse 1, the first hydroelectric facility built on the Columbia River. Powerhouse 1 was built in the early 1930s. The project I am involved with is replacement of the old turbines and generators with new more efficient units. Currently, the first turbine and generator is being manufactured in Austria. Installation of the first new unit is scheduled to begin in November this year.
The cache is a medium sized rubbermaid container containing several unactivated geocoins.
Enjoy the view.
