Geocache Description:

In order to complete this cache you will have to have completed the six Pioneer Double caches that are listed below. The cache is not at the posted coordinates but is within five and a half kilometers.
This is a two stage multi cache, the first stage is at a Pioneer Cemetery where you will gather information to lead you to a traditional final stage.

N43 and W80 are assumed for coordinates to be calculated.
This cache is the seventh and final cache in the first Pioneer Double series. As with all the caches so far there is a three digit number on the first page of the log book that you will need at some later date.

In order to get the correct coordinates for the cemetery and the final you will have to have obtained the three digit code numbers from the six previous Pioneer Double caches:

Pioneer Double #1 GCTXYG = A
Pioneer Double #2 GCV0G7 = B
Pioneer Double #3 GCV967 = C
Pioneer Double #4 GCVGZE = D
Pioneer Double #5 GCVMC4 = E
Pioneer Double #6 GCVP5P = F

Stage One – Pioneer Cemetery, – The cemetery is not at the posted coordinates but is within five kilometres.

To calculate the coordinates for the cemetery:
Take A+B+C and divide by 1000 and subtract from 42.000 to get North minute value and add to 13.393 to get the West minute value.

At the cemetery you will need the following information:
Age of Patrick Heffernan at death = G
Age of James Hogan at death = H
Age of James F. Oakes at death = I
Earliest date on the stone commemorating the “Pioneers of Eramosa” = J

To calculate coordinates for the final stage:

Take D+E+G+H and divide by 1000 and subtract from 41.051 to get North minute value, and take F+I+J and divide by 1000 and add to 11.222 to get West minute value.

Final Stage – The main cache is a medium sized plastic Lock & Lock container containing a log book and some not too large trade items.
There are two easily found trailheads that will lead you to the final, park at either one and hike the complete loop, it is not too far!
