A microcache (log only, bring your own writing instrument.) in 40+ acres of preserved desert surrounded by urban buildup.
Involves about a .2 mile walk over level gravel paths. Wheelchair accessible. No pets. Camera and binoculars are optional. The location is in a not-for-profit desert preserve rated as one of the top “Secret Gardens” in the U.S. by the National Geographic Traveler. There is a fee (adults $15 (seniors $13), Children 5-12, $6). Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cache was placed with the permission and assistance of the Park administration. It is readily accessible without having to take even one step off the trail and without having to disturb the natural features of the desert in any way. Enter the area off N. Paseo del Norte to the parking lot. The GPSr will be your guide but stay on the trails as they meander in the general direction of the coordinates. Lots of geomuggles, please be discrete.
