Geocache Description:

L’abbazia si trova in Franciacorta, bellissima zona vicino al Lago di Iseo.
The Abbey is in Franciacorta, a wonderful land near to Iseo Lake.

L’origine del complesso risale ai Benedettini Cluniacensi (XI secolo); alla fine del trecento venne trasformato in commenda e passò nel 1446 agli Olivetani che ricostruirono e abbellirono gli edifici chiamando i migliori artisti bresciani.
Di fianco all’abbazia passa la pista ciclabile che collega Brescia al Lago d’Iseo

The origins of the complex date back to the Cluniacension Benedectine monks (11th century); at the end of the 14th century it was turned into a “commenda” and then passed on to the Olivetan monks who rebuilt and embellished the buildings summoning the best artists in Brescia area.
Near the Abbey there is the cycle path from Brescia to Iseo Lake.
