Washington Park Pavilion
Rawlins, Wyoming
Wow!!!
We had such a good time at the event and I want to thank each and
every person who took the time to attend. The weather was typically
Wyoming-like (if can be bad, it will) but we showed what kind of
people call Wyoming home and we hung in there and made the best of
it. Then, about the time I had decided it was going to be that way
all day long, the sun came out, the wind died down dramatically and
it ended up being a rather pleasant day. Go figure! We knew we
wanted to have this event here in Rawlins but I don't think either
my wife or myself thought it would be the success it was the first
year out and we had no idea how much fun it would be. We will
definitely be having another next year so plan on attending then
and by all means bring a friend or two, the more the
merrier!
Tonight,
I am posting pictures of a few of the people that attended but I
want to apologize to those that I forgot to get pics of. I didn't
realize how much of my time would be taken up getting people
registered, explaining my 7-leg multi, answering questions about
the geocoins and all the other stuff my wife didn't do (any we all
know how busy she was, mostly in the PR department, a tough job but
somebody has to do it). I definitely was a little negligent on my
duties of taking pictures and visiting with more people. Next time,
I'll try to delegate some duties to my daughter who did not attend
this year.
If
we ever had any doubts about the type of community we aligned
ourselves with when we started geocaching, yesterday proved to us
that WE are a great group of people, friendly, helpful, humorous,
kind, understanding and more than willing to share our passion with
others. It amazes me that people from several generations and
lifestyles can get together so well and get to become friends. My
wife and I definitely feel we made some friends that we will
interact with in the months and years to come. We both hope that
you had as much fun as we did. From the logs that I have seen, you
did and that makes any effort we made worth it. Please check out
the gallery and please, if you have photos you would like to share,
please do so. Oh, by the way, if you attended this event and did
not get the event geonickel and would like one, e-mail me and I
will mail you one. I tried to be sure everybody got one but a few
could have slipped through the cracks. I will leave this cache up
for a couple months so we can enjoy the logs and photos. In
conclusion I'd like to say thanks and stay in touch!
