Geocache Description:

This is a micro hidden in the typical way in a city ball park in Springfield.

I was running around town the other day and happened to see another “Field of Dreams”. I had never seen the park before so I drove to it and saw it was “Davey Moore Park”. I had heard the name of the park before but this was my first time to be here. I never knew of the man and why we had a park named after him either, I assumed he must have been a local baseball player, but I was incorrect.

He was a featherweight boxing champion who had once lived in Springfield between 1959-1963. He had a record of 55 wins, 8 losses and 3 draws, with 30 wins by knockout.

He died of head injuries in a match against Sugar Ramos on March 21, 1963. The death prompted a song by Bob Dylan titled "Who Killed Davey Moore?" What is even more interesting about this is that when you figure out my puzzle to the San Juan cache you can take a few minutes to look for his tombstone as he is buried in Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio.

For more detailed information about Davey Moore check out this website. (visit link)
The park closes at 9:00 P.M.

The cache is not hard to find, its right where it should be. There is no real twist on this particular hide except there is a possibility that there are many muggles around. Please use stealth when finding and returning the cache.
