Geocache Description:

As you probably can tell from the name it is theme cache for trading key chains. There are some very nice views of Lake Ripple, along the way to the cache. This cache is only for trading keychains

The cache is located off a very nice trail with some small elevation changes along the shores of Lake Ripple. Access to the trail is at the intersection of Wheeler Road and Rte 122/140 on Grafton Land Trust property Gummere Wood, where the Quinsigamond River flows under the highway. A small parking area marked by a (GLT signpost). On Rte 122/140 another small parking lot leads to a nearby bank (Elkbow Canoe Launch) where canoes/kayaks can be launched. A pleasant walk through mixed vegetation and an old pine grove lined with ferns, suitable for picnicking, (Please bring an extra bag to CITO). Here, and if you continue along the trail you can look out over Lake Ripple. The trail connects with the Lions Club property on Brigham Hill Road.
Although I have not done this, it may be accessible by canoe/kayak. You may be able to find a suitable place around the shoreline to tie up your canoe and search for the cache. If you can travel upstream you will reach Snow Marsh, a 59 acre wildlife sanctuary owned by the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. This remarkable habitat is a duck breeding area and is home to many species. Traveling downstream from the launch, you’ll soon emerge into Lake Ripple Grafton’s beautiful centrally-located lake.
There is really no need to bushwhack. For the best access follow the trail to a small pond and continue around the grassy path and approach from behind. However, if you feel like a Marine and want to make the full assault up the hill, carry on Marine! hoo-rah!
I have another cache in Gummere Wood, Please visit this cache if you have not already.
