Geocache Description:

Welcome to the village of McKinnon. This town was abandonned to the regular (and devastating) floods along the nottawasaga river

Pioneer Settlement began in the mid-1800s, drainage and type of soil usually determined which lots were settled first. There are 5 Homesteads and a ruined Mill site in Mckinnon, but they are fairly spread out and hard to find. The Bridge into town has been recently renovated by the snowmobile association who still use the area for recreation. Getting to McKinnon will require either a 2 hour (one way) canoe trip, or an ATV/Snowmobile.

At the listed coordinates you will find a bridge. On the bridge is information regarding the construction of the bridge.
