Geocache Description:

This is little known Nature Conservatory Land with a beautiful pond. The hike in has slight elevation changes over an old snowmobile trail but no steep grades approximately 2 1/2 miles round trip. Located off the West Appleton Road.

Park at the following Coordinates: N44.19.765 W069.15.690 to the side of the dirt road. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE UP THE DIRT ROAD. Although your GPS is going to point for you to go right, follow the dirt road straight ahead for approximately .32 miles to the trail head. Please do not bushwack from your car as this is private property, you need to go down the dirt road to reach the Nature Trail. Coordinates for the Trail Head: 44.19.539N 069.16.012W. You will see the start of the trail on your right with signs for Nature Conservatory Land, No ATV's. No pets - sorry the Conservatory Regulations. Follow this trail as it loops to the right down through the woods toward the cache location. Approximately .15 miles from the cache the trail divides. There is a small rock pile at the trail split. Take the trail to the right that drops down a slight grade. The trail becomes slightly narrower but still easy to follow. The heavy tree cover makes the coordinates jumpy - look for logical spot when you're within 30 ft.

Presently there are some small trees down in the trail but easily stepped over. The cache does not require any bushwacking. The length of the walk and being a wood trail terrain gives this cache a 3 rating on terrain, there are no steep climbs and anyone comfortable walking uneven terrain for 2 1/2 miles will have no difficulty with this cache. Isolated area with little chance of muggles.

Take time to go all the way to the pond.

Take along a fishing pole and picnic, enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful little know nature preserve.
