Geocache Description:

Terrain is mostly level with some inclines.

This cache is situated in a broad valley in the appalachian foothills of north central Pennsylvania, Montour Preserve is surrounded by two long, rolling ridges. This low-lying valley with favorable environmental and economic conditions brought PPL to construct the Montour Steam Electric Station in 1972. The 165-acre Lake Chillisquaque, located in the center of the preserve, was developed to provide a backup reservoir of cooling water for the 1.5-million-kilowatt power plant. The lake now offers a variety of educational and recreational opportunities. Bring a picnic, fishing gear, horseshoes, and good pair of hiking shoes with you. The cache is a green ammo box. There is no bushwacking. Parking coordinates N 41 06.321 W076 39.174
