Meadow's Meadows Traditional Cache

Along Highway 3 on the Bombi Pass between Salmo and Castlegar BC
Park at a pullout on the South side of the highway at N 49 11.772 and W 117 27.137. Use caution when crossing the highway and use the well used game trail for easiest access upwards. Please stay on the rock or game trails as much as possible so the fragile plants, mosses, and soils are not destroyed. We counted more than TEN herbs and shrubs already in bloom (oregon grape, wild strawberry, indian paintbrush, yellow glacier lily, and spring beauty to name a few). Lupines were not yet blooming.
From this vantage point look south and south easterly at the meandering head waters of Beaver Creek as it flows through the rural community and meadows of Meadows.
You may even see deer or elk at the watering hole on the top side of the highway a short distance down the road!!
Container in a container -- please do not remove the larger container. Original contents are: reflector arm band, pencil topper, BCCH cancer bracelet, photo frame and compass and of course a log book, pencil and the obligatory information sheet. As well a FTF prize. A newly activated KOOTENAY CACHERS GEOCOIN is also present.
Oh yes, a few more things -- bring your camera, binoculars and PLANT ID book (you may need it for the flowers etc.)!! Think latin.
