Geocache Description:

This cache is placed within Duff Park, with the kind permission of the Murrysville Parks and Recreation Director.

The coordinates listed above are for stage one of the cache! This is our first cache, and it was placed to thank all of you other hiders for making it become so clear to us that we are woefully out-of-shape. Please minimize your impact on this lovely park by staying on the trail until you near the stages. The trails will take you incredibly close to the cache, so PLEASE respect the park. Little to no bushwacking is required, and we think you will find this hunt to be blissfully jagger-free, even if it is relentlessly steep. Have fun and pack water!

We made this a simple puzzle cache to ensure that you get the excellent hike we know you want!

The best parking and starting point is at N 40° 25.271 W 079° 40.180.

Stage 1 N 40° 25.236 W 079° 40.385
Here you will find the crossing of two trails. Each of the two trail signs has a little marker with a flower and two letters on it. Using a simple alphabet cipher (A=1, B=2 etc.), add up the four letters that appear on these little flowered markers. We’ll call that number X.

YYY = 8X + 12
ZZZ = X(SQUARED) + 1

The final cache is located at N 40° 25.YYY W 079° 40.ZZZ
