This can be a difficult paddle, depending on the wind, so be
prepared! It is about a 15km round trip.
This cache was placed by the members of the PSC on an annual
canoeing trip. The cache is an ammo can placed near Euchre Lake.
There could be several ways to get to this cache, but we chose this
way:
First, make your way to Panuke Lake via the Panuke lake Road ( off
the # 1 highway) Intersection of #1 and Panuke Rd. N44 57.811 W064
05.178.
At the end of the road there is a well used boat launch area (N44
54.217 W064 05.054). Enter the lake here and paddle to the seasonal
brook that flows from Euchre Lake (N44 50.481 W064 05.721), which
is about 7km. The brook goes above and hides below ground as you
climb the terrain. From here there will be a 500m bushwack to the
cache. The elevation will increase for a bit, but the area is full
of moss covered rocks and Helmlocks. Reception can be dodgy in
here, so make sure that you have a good lock on the GPSr before
entering the woods. At the time of placement, the best accuracy was
@ 20m.
