Located in the Van Alstyne Cemetery near Collin Mckinney's gravesite and a State of Texas Historical Marker.
Since Collin McKinney had a County and a City named for him I decided he deserved two caches. (see GCVZFD) Mr. McKinney was born in 1766 and died in 1861. He lived through a remarkable period of our nation and our state's history. He in fact lived under eight (8) different governments. Just south of Van Alstyne (in Collin County) on the East side of Hwy 5 is another Historical Marker noting the home-site of Mr. McKinney.
