Geocache Description:

This is a nice and easy cache.

This is the spot where seven brave men lost there life fighting a fire on Aug. 1 1918. Five fire fighters from Ladder 45 and two fire fighters from Engine 130. This brick building behind the memorial was called Fleishmans. A grain making company. Take a moment and pay respect to the men & woman around the world protecting us from danger. On aug. 1st every year the Peekskill Fire Department has a memorial service to pay respect to the fallen.
