This trail is for hikers only until you reach the flat area at the top. A series of switchbacks (200' elevation gain) at the beginning and an easy flat trail for the most part. About a mile each way unless you use the creative parking, then it is .30 each way but that spot is not marked and there is only parking for one car. I recommend starting and parking here N 48° 12.798 W 122° 28.920 and enjoy the hike.
When you reach N 48° 12.803 W 122° 30.088 you can add a wonderful forested loop hike, just follow the yellow triangles with the arrows on them and you will return to where you started.
On 4/06/06 it was reported that a mama bear and her cub were spotted in this area so don't walk too quietly.
You will come to a small side trail about 150' from the cache. This trail will bring you within 30' of the large Cedar stump hiding behind a big Fir tree on your right.
Do not bushwhack to the stump, go back 30' and look for an angled trail to the back side of the stump.
The cache is a very large ammo can for large travel bugs and large trade items. It is stocked with some very nice trade items and a Rey del Roble "Race for Cache" Geocoin and an FTF wooden nickel for the FTF.
If you find the cache hide it as well as you found it.
