Geocache Description:

Generally flat terrain, park like grassy area.

This is #6 in the series of caches placed around historical or interesting places in the Town of Paradise Valley.

In the mid 1940's long time developer Marvin Folkman wanted to build homes on his land in the Paradise Valley part of the Indian Bend Wash. In order to protect these homes from flooding, a plan was developed that would turn this wash into a green belt. By the summer of 1949, the first greenbelt in Indian Bend Wash was completed. It worked well and became the model for the entire project. It starts at Scottsdale Road travels west until it turns south and crosses Doubletree Ranch Road. Twenty years later it became part of a golf course.

Initially we placed the cache under the rock with the plaque in a nice hollow but found a gopher upset with us becausee we had blocked his doorway and he kept pushing dirt over the canister. Now it is about 20 feet away from that rock. Park on Via Los Caballos.
