Geocache Description:

This ground is level and is wheelchair accessible

This park was originally dedicated as Memorial Park. The original
parcel of ground was purchased in 1949 by the Federation of Clubs
of Monongahela. This park was dedicated in 1954 by Mayor William A.
Polaski. This park was the site of two Indian Burial Mounds built
between 2,000 and 3,000 years ago by the Adena people. Late l9th
excavations found skeletons, pottery, copper implements and other
antiquities. Memorial Park was dedicated to the men and women who
gave their lives in the service of our country. The City of
Monongahela assumed responsibility in 1951. There is ample parking,
parking is permitted on the street. There is a Porto Potty
available. This park consists of a tennis court, baseball field,
football field, and basketball court. The container is small with a
log and there is room for small trade items. Bring your own pencil.
The container does not need to be removed from hiding location, it
unscrews. Good luck and if you have any problems, e-mail us. This
cache was approved by the Parks and Recreation Department. No need
to destroy anything to find this cache but watch out for
mugggle.
