This is a Cache and Dash for I-15 SOUTHBOUND ONLY just north of Butte.
This is a great little overlook/history lesson just outside of Butte. Be prepared as you approach from the north, this pullout can sneak up on you. Mama Pirate wishes this one looked a little more directly down on the Pit, but you still get a great look at Butte, the Pit and the surrounding area. In fact it's probably the best view of Our Lady of the Rockies you can get without actually being up there with her. Be sure to read all the signs as they are very informative. The one entitled "Butte" also has a pretty good bit of humor to it as well. Cache has only a log book and a small First To Find pin, so BYOP.
