Cross Farms Recreation Complex is located off Rhodes Road in Tolland. This complex supports numerous soccer fields and a very nice “Orange Trail” system. We owe our thanx for the trails to the Ryan Kalriess Eagle Project.
This trailhead starts at N41 51.727 W072 20.324. The scouts cut a nice trail boasting florescent orange discs and built two footbridges over the small stream. Parts of the area are a bit low and can get wet at certain times of year or after big rains. You’ll seek out a medium sized Lock n Lock container with assorted goodies.
IMPORTANT NOTE: THE CACHE IS NOT IN THE STONE WALLS.
There is parking for about 4 cars right at the start of the trailhead, but during soccer games these spots are sure to be taken. They ask that you do NOT park on the complex road itself, or on the grass. There is ample parking further down the complex road. During the winter they close the gate. Seasonal Port-a-potties are available.
