This cache is a film canister and is located at a public beach on Lake Superior. The area is very sandy but level.
If you look straight, from where you will find the cache, out to the lake you will see a piece of wood sticking up. This is the keel of the shipwreck, Peninsula. I found this by accident a few years ago while kayaking and have since investigated multiple times while snorkeling and kayaking. Some parts are easily visible and others aren't. It is in about 5 feet of water to start with then gradually gets deeper.
This area is popular during the summer months for the beach so stealth will be needed. There is a rest area nearby as well with picnic tables, grills and restrooms.
OTHER NEARBY CACHES:
Bridges of Keweenaw County- EAgle River FAlls
The swimming hole- aka eagle river falls
