Geocache Description:

Cache is a round plastic freezer container at the edge of Penniston Cemetery. You do not need to walk across graves to get to it. This is a dawn to dusk only cache.

I had thought about placing a cache here and mentioning someone from the older section of the cemetery, perhaps Jerusha and Joseph Penniston.

But after walking around a bit and finding a good hiding spot, I decided to write about my friend Mark. We weren't close school friends. I was a couple of years older. But we were farm kids in the country where kids your own age may be miles away. Mark and his sister and I would walk to each others' homes or meet along the way somewhere and just hang out or ride horses or three-wheelers (back when they were legal). In the winter we built sled runs and stayed outside all day. Mark lived in the brown house that you can see from the cemetery. I lived in the house up the hill behind it.

Mark died of some sort of infection. I never did find out just what. Doesn't much matter. He was too young.

The cache is an plastic container full of this and that. Coordinates were iffy in the tree cover, but you should be able to use your caching sense. I don't remember if there is a pen.
