Geocache Description:

A nice short walk from the old harbour in Tayport. In fact, just a small detour away from your 'track' whilst walking the 'Empire Biscuits' cache route.
Stay on the well defined paths, there may be points where the arrow tells you you should go through gaps in fences or similar but it's an easy walk if you think laterally!
I can't promise you'll see Dolphins. We're not talking Porpoises with their wacky face paint; no, Bottlenose Dolphins.
Members of the pod here are some of the biggest in the UK due to it being just a little bit chilly in the winter so they build up reserves of fat. Contrary to popular belief they don't go to Florida in the winter.

Take good binoculars and look for disturbances out on the water where fish shoals are. They often cause chaos hunting the fish and as a result Gulls, Terns and other birds may be seen around that point as well. Also look at any boats that are travelling around the estuary. The dolphins often play in the bow wave of boats going at moderate speeds.
If you want to see them up close on the water, consider a half day trip in 'Badger'. Further details from the North Carr Lightship at City Quay, Dundee.
The dolphins are often seen in the evening around the harbour mouth, especially between the pair of buoys and the entrance.
Parking easily obtained for this cache at the Tayport Harbour, same starting point as 'Empire Biscuits'.
