Geocache Description:

You say you've never heard of Getchell? Maybe you've heard of it but you're not sure where it is. This cache will bring you to my neck of the woods -- beautiful, downtown Getchell, Washington.

Getchell, Washington doesn't have much to recommend it -- no big grocery stores, no post office (and consequently, no zip code), no church . . . just to name a few of the things you won't find here, although we did get a school . . . finally!

But Getchell is a place. If you've got the right map, we're on it. There is a sign marking Getchell, but it's quite a bit further to the east in somebody's yard. (It's hard to spot even if you are looking for it.) We have Getchell Hill Road, and we recently got a traffic light -- right next to our fire station. We do have one store in Getchell proper -- a feed store. And, of course, I live near here, too.

But the newest 'thing' here is a Park and Ride lot. Honestly, it was needed. Communters needed some place to park, and they used what ever space they could find, clogging nearby roads and actually blocking some private driveways. But finally, somebody noticed the problems and did something about it, giving us this lot.

So, come visit Getchell, see our brand, spanking, new Park and Ride lot, and find my cache. Oh, and it might be fun to bring your bicycle, too.

Things for you to know:
  • This cache is now open to all geocachers.
  • The cache is not in the parking lot, but it would be wise to park there. Please do not park on 84th St NE!
  • Stealth is required. Muggle are frequently present, depending on the season.
  • A clue may be added after FTF.
  • Congrats to Gordy&Sassy (& Right Wing Wacko!) on their FTF. G&S took home bragging rights, while RRW took home the FTF prize of an unactivated set of TB tags.
