Geocache Description:

You will be looking for a small tube container at the final location in this great park.

Katrina Memorial Dedicated to the Victims of Hurricane Katrina August 29, 2005 The Katrina Memorial in Biloxi Mississippi is located near Highway 90 in Biloxi's Town Green. Dedicated to the Gulf Coast victims who perished in Hurricane Katrina. Opened Feb 15, 2006 in a ceremony with ABC's "Extreme Makeover" crew. The Memorial stands 12 feet tall, about the height of the water during Hurricane Katrina's storm surge at the Town Green. I believe the surge was much higher in different parts of the coast. The Memorial contains a tile inlay of a wave and a glass case containing various items from destroyed buildings. This cache could be quick find or a challenge depending on what you see. It is not a Lamp post cache but I hope it is fun. Enjoy the Memorial The above coordinates will take you to the Katrina Memorial. To Locate the cache, stand on the east side of the glass case, position yourself between the Flag and wood and you should be able to see the cache location. To confirm what you see from a different nearby position (within 3 feet), the cache is located in a tree between a rock and a bright idea. This could take you in many directions but keep one eye open, look carefully for the proper direction and you will hit pay dirt quickly. Once you find the cache location you will still need to search to find the cache so don't give up. Please bring your own pen to sign the log. Note: When I placed this cache mosquitoes were plentiful so take your spray. Leftygator performed maintenance for Katrina Memorial (Unknown Cache) at 2/28/2012 Log Date: 2/28/2012 Finally had time and went by and found the cache missing as I suspected. I replaced the Camo Match Stick with a small tube. Please camo the container as you found it or better. Enjoy seeing this great location.
