Old Stone House that was rumoured to be a Nazi hideout. That's just a nice story. Might have been a German resident.
This location is not far off the highway and is the remains of an old stone house in the woods. Trees growing up through the foundation. The old stove lying nearby. Although it looks ancient with trees in and all around it, the house once had electricity so not that old. WARNING: THERE IS AN OPEN WELL NOT FAR FROM THE BUILDING. SOME TAPE WAS PUT BY THE WELL BUT THAT COULD BE REMOVED OR BLOWN AWAY. Travel on highway 103 and pass junction #6. Travel 1.5 km further south on this highway and pull over on the right on an old pulloff. YOu'll be clear of traffic. You'll find this an interesting site if you like historic locations. The huge front window must have once had a beautiful view of the bay - now completely hidden by trees. The cache contains Scout crests and a few pins plus a logbook. I also left a travel snake in this cache but forgot to record the number of the snake. I'll go home and by the process of elimination determine what number I left behind. (It was 30 something.) I'll also add that information to my travel snake website. I hope you'll move the snake to another location. Check out my webpage at kmscouts.tripod.com to follow the snake. This cache might not be found if there is lots of snow.
