El Dog Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-DeRock-: Greetings,

While Geocaching.com would like to continue to hold the location for you, doing so blocks other cachers from placing caches in the area. This cache has been disabled for a period of time exceeding what is reasonable. Since there has been no update with maintenance plans from the cache owner I regretfully must archive it.

If you are able to get out and replace the cache, simply drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. I will be more than happy to take a look at it to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Thank you,

-DeRock-

Geocache Description:

There are four possible entrances to Ag Field.
#1 N 42 42.885, W084 28.952, From the green gate, walk north along the fence until you can get around the end.
#2 N 42 42.860 W084 29.021 The gate is usually open, but the parking lot isn't always available.
#3 N 42 42.933 W084 29.332 Easy parking but you may have to climb over the gate.
#4 N 42 42.935 W084 29.424 Also easy parking, the gate is usually open, but sometimes they lock it so be prepared to climb over the top.

Until recently, the MSU Ag Field had been the unofficial Dog Park of the East Lansing area for at least the last 15 years. See the pic. So this WAS a dog friendly place. It has recently been converted to a frisbe golf course, so dogs are NOT welcome during the nicest time of the year. I've decided not to change the name so I can preserve some fond memories.

From July 7 through July 27 the field is closed to the public for the Michigan Agricultural Expo. You can still get in but you may have to pay an admission fee and deal with the crowds. If you enjoy farm machinery, it is a fun time. The cache is located in an area that won't be disturbed by the Expo.

When I first thought of this hiding technique, I really believed that I had finally created an original concept. That is until I was baffled by a cache placed by team UsTwo in Charlotte. They beat me to it! So this isn't really a copy of their idea, even though it looks very similiar. The cache container is a 4" square Lock n Lock box. I'm not trying to make this particularily difficult to find, just well hidden and entertaining. Please make sure you restore the camo in good shape. First Finder prize. Small trade items only.
