Før opførelsen af Frederiksberg brandstation, politistation og domhus lå Solbjerg Kirke idyllisk og ensomt på den daværende Lampevej. Den er opført som et rektangulært langhus med tårn i vest og en tværfløj med menighedslokaler og kontorer ved korpartiets sydside. Gennem en granit- og sandstensindrammet portal kommer man ind i et hvidkalket kirkerum med rundbuede vinduer og tøndehvælvet loft. Ved hjælp af døre kan menighedslokalet sættes i forbindelse med kirkerummet.

De oprindelige pulpiturer og paneler nedtoges i 1977. Efter en brand i 1980, forårsaget af en adventskrans, fik kirken til sin 75 års dag i 1983 et helt nyt interiør. Prædikestol, alterbord, knæfald og belysning blev fornyet ved arkitekt Gustav Valentiner. Bænke og andet træværk blev malet i lyse farver, og kirken fik en ny totaludsmykning af malerinden Bodil Kaalund: Alterbilledet forestiller Himmelfarten og op-tager hele korvæggen. Over vinduerne har Bodil Kaalund malet seks oldkristne symboler.

Before the building of the nearby fire station, the police station and the court house this church was situated in solitude and quite idyllic. The church was built as a rectangular house with a tower towards west and a crossing southside section with rooms for the parish and offices. Through a portal of granite and sand stone you enter the white church room with rounded arches, windows and ceiling.

The original pulpitures and panels were removed in 1977. After a fire in 1980, the church was given new interior in connection with its 75th birthday in 1983, and was redecorated by the artist Bodil Kaalund. The altar picture shows the rising to heaven and covers the whole wall in the choir. Above the windows Bodil Kaalund has painted six old Christian symbols.
