Geocache Description:

Pleasant stroll through farmland.

If the title of the cache brings to mind thoughts of hobbits and rings, that's entirely deliberate. The country around here is very reminiscent of The Shire to my mind and Bilbo, Frodo and the rest would feel right at home around here.

To find the cache head out from the centre of Gifford on the Station Road. Head up into the trees and follow the path as marked around Fawn Wood.

At the far corner of the wood you will find the real reason for the name of the cache! Carry on along the path and down into the river valley - your quarry awaits...

You can turn this one into an excellent circular walk by visiting Kissjenn's Eaglescairnie Library, Oh Beehive and even The Holly and the Ivy, if you want to brave the ford.

Update Dec 2015

Extra waypoints added to help those who seem to be having problems.

This cache really needs to be approached from Gifford to really understand the whole reason for the cache.

You can do it from other sides but more than likely you will need to cross the river to find the cache.
