The Hill-Stead Museum is a
beautiful place to visit and a National Historic Landmark. Composed
of ten buildings on 152 acres, it is home to an extensive
collection of art, including four Caude Monet paintings, period
furniture, and archival documents.
Home of the famed annual Sunken Garden
Poetry Festival the grounds and gardens are a treasure to
explore. A link to what's currently in bloom can be found
here
You may explore the grounds and walk the trails at no cost;
there is only a fee to enter the museum.
The grounds and trails are open
daily from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please obey these hours.
I noticed quite a bit of poison ivy growing in this area so I
chose to hide this one very close to the trail. No bushwhacking
needed. Please use stealth!
