Geocache Description:


Fur Tor is a large tor in the heart of the north moor and is known as the “Queen of Tors”. The cache is within the Okehampton Firing Range. There are several ways you could get to Fur Tor, the way I suggest is park at Baggator Gate N50.36.385 W004.03.341 walk up the track and head for Lynch Tor. If you go this way you will be walking through Merrivale Range. It will take you about 2 hours to walk to Fur Tor and of course 2 hours to get back, its very rough walking, boggy in places and 2 brooks to cross, after rain these brooks turn to rivers.
If you choose to go via Tavy Cleave which I would say is the most picturesque route, Tavy Cleave is within the Willsworthy Firing Range.

YOU NEED TO BE KITTED OUT PROPERLY FOR THIS WALK it is not a Sunday afternoon stroll.

The cache should be easy to find due to the distance you have to cover to get to the cache.
This cache is right in the middle of Letterboxing country, so I am releasing the clue as a letterbox as well. In the cache there is a specially made letterbox stamp and a visitor’s book. The first few visitors will find some postcards in the cache please leave these for the letterboxers to return to me. If you wish to take a copy of the stamp you must take an ink pad and paper with you. Please do not put anything in the cache. No Travel Bugs.
