Cache container is a 30 mm ammo box along the Erie Canal Trail. It is located near what I'm told is an old cement factory. The graffitti is not family friendly, hence the name of the cache. During the summer one can walk right by the old building and not see the graffitti.
There are two potential parking spots for this cache. I don't believe that either is plowed in the winter, hence the nonaccessibility of the site during this season. The first is at Fincks Basin road. The coords are N43D 01.972, W74D 49.847. As you enter the trail, you will see a "Do Not Enter" sign. This is intended for motor vehicles only, the trail is intended to be walked along (indeed, just the other side of the sign is another stating the atributes of walking the entire length of this trial). This way will take you past the cement factory.
The second parking is my favorite. N43D 02.234 W74D 50.620. It is at the Barge Canal Lock 17. From here, walk through Erie Canal Lock 36, completed in 1850. Up the stairs at the interpretive signs near N43D 02.250 W74D 50.706. At the top of the stairs you will see an excellent view of the barge canal lock and the Mohawk River. Proceed to the cache from here.
Your GPS will tell you the second is closer, but truth be told they are about the same, and both offer a very relaxing walk. GPS readings are very erratic at the site, I attempted taking them on two separate days and finally settled on the given coords. The clue should help. One last thing, you might be tempted to park along the road and bushwack in. I strongly advise against this. It is very steep and filled with heavy brush.
