This farm was established in 1690 – producing a variety of fresh produce and grapes until 1974 when the focus shifted to wine producing only.
The estate is owned by Stephan Schorghuber, who also owns the Arabella Sheriton Grand Hotel while the winemaker is Rolf Zeitvogel.
The flagship wine is the Cabriolet – a superb blended red.
Also highly rated is the rather rare Zinfandel.
The Landau range is the popular easily accessible red blend, white blend, rosé and semi-sweet. ( All the blended wines are named after carriages of yesteryear.)
The Estate also hosts an annual blending competition (now in it’s 22nd year) which has produced some gold award winners.
Turn in at the coordinates and make your way to the Wine Tasting Centre where GPS signal is a bit patchy. Once inside you can wander through the wide selection and decide whether you prefer the lighter or heavier varieties.
