Geocache Description:

This is the first part of a set of three caches based on John Bunyans chimney. You will have to visit the chimney to get info from the board there to find the first two caches. These two caches contain part co-ords for the final in the series. The co-ords at the top of the page are for the chimney, it is just over the road and down a bit from the John Bunyan pub.

The 17th century chimney is all that remains of a cottage where John Bunyan is said to have stayed and preached. He is best known as the author of ‘The Pilgrims Progress’, but in his day was renowned for his non-conformist sermons, which landed him in prison a time or two!!!!!

There is parking at N51* 47.912 W000* 16.581, there is space for a couple of cars here and is the best place to park for all three caches.

To find this, the first of the three caches you need to get this bit of info from the board.
What year was it repaired by the City and District of St Albans?? Answer ABBC

The cache is at N51* 48.0(C-2)(B-1) W000* 16.C(A+1)(C-2)

It isn’t too far away and shouldn’t be too hard to find. Mind you we were struggling with signal at the time of setting, so check out the decrypt if you don’t have much luck!!!! Also, don't forget to make a note of the first half of the co-ords for part 3 - they are on the inside of the lid of the cache.

We hope you enjoy this set, happy caching xxxxx
