The old castle of Leonroth (sometimes written Alt Leonrod)
was build in the 12th century high above the Teigitsch gorge to
protect the main road over the Pack to Carinthia. When this road
was moved in the 15th century, the old castle was abandoned and the
new Leonroth castle was build.
Today there is only one wall left.
As this place is not even marked as a ruin in AMAP I never the less
decided to place a lost stones cache here.
There are two options to park.
If you like a longer hike and do not like to drive on small
gravel roads you can park at the chapel at:
N 47° 00.708
E 015° 08.210
You can also follow this small gravel road for about 600m until
you reach
N 47° 00.417
E 015° 08.102
Now follow the signs and your GPS pointer for about 10 minutes
to reach to the ruins.
The cache is hidden outside the ruin, there is no need to
remove any stone from the wall!
The cache is a plastic box approximately 20 cm x 12
cm x 7 cm in size.
Please do not remove the pencil, the logbook and the cachenote!
Die Burg Alt Leonroth (manchmal auch Alt
Leonrod geschrieben) wurde im 13. Jahrhundert zur Bewachung der
Straße über die Pack gebaut. Diese Straße wurde im 15. Jahrhundert
verlegt und daher die Burg aufgegeben.
An der neuen Straße wurde die Burg
Neu Leonroth gebaut.
Von Alt Leonroth existiert heute nur mehr
eine Mauer.
Da diese Burg nicht einmal in der AMAP aufscheint habe ich dennoch
beschlossen einen Cache dort zu legen.
Es gibt zwei
Möglichkeiten diesen Cache zu besuchen.
Wer etwas weiter gehen möchte und kein großer Freund von schmalen
Schotterstraßen ist sollte bei der Kapelle
parken:

Man kann aber auch noch diese
Schotterstraße ca. 600m entlang fahren und parkt dann
bei:
N 47° 00.417
E 015° 08.102
Jetzt folgt man den Schildern bzw dem
GPS für 10 Minuten um zur Ruine zu gelangen.
Der Cache ist außerhalb der Ruine
versteckt. Es ist nicht notwendig irgendwelche Steine aus der Mauer
zu entfernen!
Der Cache ist eine
Plastikbox mit ca: 20 cm x 12 cm x 7 cm.
Bitte das Logbuch, den Bleistift und die Cachenote nicht aus dem
Cache entfernen!
