Caches with Wolves Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

Trail handles horses, mtn bikes & hikers, not for strollers & wheelchairs. Mostly single file w/ elevation changes gradually up & down (Cubs say like a roller coaster). Off trail is poison oak, ticks & wildlife that may or may not be happy to see you. About 1 mile out, took us ~½ hour each way. Shaded most of the way by Oak & Bay trees. Container is about 12”x10” square with natural cammo. Requires going down and back up a dry creek bank at the trail start. Parking free on road, fee in lot.

This cache is the grand finale for our year as Wolf Cub Scouts. The 9 boys in this Den were in the 2nd grade and 7-8 years old. During the past year we have learned about rockets and satellites, how to read a map, use a compass and a GPS. We even placed and found 10 practice caches at our school! The cache placement is being celebrated by the launching of 12 ‘Wolf’ TB’s, one for each scout and leader. We hope everyone that finds this cache has as much fun as we did in putting it together. We recommend that you bring a lunch so you can hang out at the picnic tables either at the parking area (with restrooms and drinking fountain), or better yet, at the cache site where there is a picnic table, bench, & horse tie. During our hikes we have seen a duck family, a Canadian goose family, butterflies, dragonflies, frogs & fish jumping, blackbirds, marlins, turkey vultures, lizards, heard woodpeckers and if we got up early, deer. Kids can make the hike if they have done long walks/hikes before. Please visit Winding Up The Creekside which is half way to Caches with Wolves, and a nice place to rest.
