Geocache Description:

Located in what is now the Spring Valley Nature Preserve.

An ammo can located just off the trail in a familiar location. The description and location have changed somewhat since this cache was first listed. There are now defined trails and public parking off Rt. 16. The original description is below for historical reference... enjoy!

This cache is located in the Salt Run Open Space which was Granville Township's first open space purchase back in 1991. The area is completely undeveloped and will pose several challenges in finding it. The first challenge is to figure out where to park so you can access the open space without trespassing. There are at least three good parking spots, but they're not obvious. In order to avoid people trespassing, here's a link to a map to guide you: http://www.granvilletownship.org/record/Record%20No%202%20Open%20Space%20Map%20-%20May%2004.pdf The second challenge is to get to the general area of the ca che. The area is completely overgrown with no trails and lots of brush and fallen logs. If you don't mind getting wet, it's not too bad--in fact I did it with my 4 and 7 year olds. This leads us to the last challenge: retrieving the cache. Since I want this challenge to be a physical one I'll tell you where the cache is: it's an ammo box hanging down on the cliff on the east side of the creek where a tree has fallen across the creek. Good luck.
