Cerro do Guilhim it’s a hill (that’s what “cerro” means); from its top, 313 m high, the visitor will enjoy awesome views over Faro and the coast. The walk up there can be phisically demanding, specially during the hot months.
It’s adviceable for the geocacher to do his homework before hunt this one as the road leading to the starting hike point may be considered tricky and not obvious.
The south face of this hill was used, in pre-historic ages, as burial ground. Unfortunatelly I don hold further details about this aspect.
By the way… if you are coming, give me a call and wave from Guilhim’s summit. I will wave you back. I will be around 1500 m north-northeast of the geodesic mark with direct line of sight. The above picture was taken from my home.
