An easy micro in a peaceful neighborhood designed specifically for
access by children and the physically challenged. Bring your own
pen/pencil/marker/crayon.
Curtis Smock was my roommate in college when I was an Architecture
major. He suffered from an advanced case of Muscular Dystrophy,
which left him in a powered wheelchair with barely the ability to
move his hands. After a particularly difficult winter day of
fighting "handicap-accessible" ramps and sidewalks that were either
too steep or turned too tightly or presented other challenges to
his chair, Curt asked me not to forget him and his struggles when
designing buildings. I am in the Army now and do not design
buildings. But I have not forgotten Curt, and I wanted my first
cache to be accessible to EVERYONE. This cache has been placed with
the permission of the property owner. It is NOT near the property
owner's house, so there is no need to go into their yard. Parking
is available on the street next to the cache, and wheelchairs have
access to the sidewalk within 50 feet of the cache. This location
is a beautiful, friendly neighborhood where children ride their
bikes and people walk their dogs to the nearby park (which has
three more very nice caches). Please respect that environment by
observing speed limits, as well as noise and light restraint. Thank
you.
