Geocache Description:

Located at one of the Powhatan stops on Virginia's Civil War Trails

The historic marker located here states the following. "Here Robert E. Lee, riding from Appomattox to Richmond to join his family, pitched his tent for the last time on April 14, 1865. He stopped here to visit his brother, Charles Carter Lee, who lived nearby at Windsor. Not wishing to incommode his brother, Lee camped by the roadside and the next day ended his journey in Richmond."

There's no need to go behind the exhibit or to disturb any parts of the fence or its supports to find this cache.

Cache contains a log only--bring your own pen.

Please rehide the container with care.

WATCH TRAFFIC CAREFULLY WHEN YOU RE-ENTER THE ROAD!
