El Embalse de Santillana, un lago artificial, sirve como
deposito de agua potable.
También es el domicilio de muchas aves,
especialmente cigüeñas. Antes las cigüeñas migraran al sur durante
la época de tiempo frío. En los últimos años se quedaban aquí. Las
razones pueden ser que los inviernos no están tan fríos como en
antiguos tiempos y que hay suficiente comida también en los meses
más fríos.
El acceso al lago esta prohibido en muchos
puntos por protección de las aves y el agua. Por supuesto también
esta prohibido a bañarse y cruzar con barcos.
En el paseo hacia el cache es muy probable de que puedes observar
cigüeñas. Se ruega ser silencioso para no molestar a las aves.
Tráete tus prismáticos si quieres observarlas mejor.
Este es un multi
cache. Cerca de la primera estación
puedes dejar el coche. Allí encontraras las coordenadas del final.
La primera estación tiene fácil acceso desde la parada del autobús
cerca de la rotonda.

The Embalse de Santillana, an artificial lake, serves as
deposit of drinking water.
But also it is the home of many birds,
especially of storks. Before, the storks went to the south during
the cold season. But in the last years they remained here. The
reason could be that the winters are not so cold any longer and
that there is enough food also during the cold months.
Access to the lake is not allowed in many
points in order to protect the birds and the water. Of course, it
is also not allowed to take a bath or use a boat.
During the walk towards the cache it is
very probable, that you will see storks. Please, move silent not
disturbing the birds. Bring your binoculars, if you want to watch
them.
This is a multi cache. Close to the first
station you can leave your car. There you will find the coordinates
of the final. Easy access to stage one is from the bus stop close
to the roundabout.
