Drink the Living Water Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

OnePoorExcuse: I was going to try and update this cache but wasn't able to edit it from multi-cache to regular, nor could I edit the coordinates from the original first stage to the second (and now only) stage. So, I'm archiving this cache and relisting a new cache to replace it. The new cache is called, A Thirst for Knowledge and it is located exactly where the second stage of Drink the Living Water was located.

Geocache Description:

Originally called, Drink the Living Water, this was a two stage multicache, I've removed the first stage and now it is a single cache, named A Thrist for Knowledge. Both names were based on what was near by.

The traditional cache is a clear, square, plastic container with a gray lid, and wrapped in a couple bags to protect it from rain/snow.

It was originally a two stage cache and the main purpose was to mark the spring near the first stage, and the second stage was supposed to be a lot closer but wasn't approved. So, I ended up choosing a farther spot. Lots of folks didn't care for the distance between the stages and the first stage is no longer accessible as public access has been somewhat restricted. It all works out well in the end, considering the second stage was really the better location anyway. With my interest in geocaching recently reignited, it was time to maintain/update all my caches.

There is a little white school house nearby, thus the new name, A Thirst for Knowledge. While most of those little one room school houses are long gone from the American landscape, they played a crucial role in American history. Nearly every town had one, and many of the great minds that built the nation and/or saw it through many great crisis, were educated in those little one room school houses. These buildings were also often used as the church, the meeting house, voting locations, and celebrations. The world was a much larger place back then, and that one building played a big role in a small town.
